Welcome to the new SASHA website!

Welcome to our new website, a fresh platform to align with SASHA’s goals and our exciting relaunch!

Why the Relaunch?

SASHA has grown immensely over the past year, and with this growth, we aim to amplify our impact. This academic year, we’re launching big initiatives to enhance accessibility and inclusivity. We want SASHA to reflect everyone, survivors, allies, you, and me, as there is not a certain look for any survivor, activist or person! SASHA is for all, and we want our site to mirror that openness.

Our new mascot, Sasha, which was designed by Imogen Harvey-Lewis, animated by Shania Bowie, and voiced by Enie??, symbolises our values. Inspired by our Society-Into-School event where we delivered child-friendly consent and wellbeing sessions in local Leeds primary schools. Students created an avatar based on our values of respect, safety, education and activism. Using these as inspiration, alongside our updated aims, Sasha was born.

What’s on this site?

Here, you’ll find our blog (including blogs from our previous site) with plans to produce even more content this year. With a free Sasha membership, accessible via Engage, anyone can join—not just University of Leeds students! Membership gives you access to a members-only chat, the chance to contribute to future projects, or maybe even write your own blog.

What else can I do with SASHA?

  • Sip and Social: A low-pressure space every Wednesday, 3-5 PM in LUU Room 1, hosted by our Welfare Officer, Merna.
  • Pub and Chat: Join us bi-weekly on Tuesdays, 5-7 PM in Old Bar, a relaxed social hosted by our Equality Officer, Tom.
  • Consent training: We run consent and active bystander trainings ran by our welfare team and X-trained President, Lauren. We have ran them for students and organisations, interested? Send us an email!
  • We’re working on exciting projects with LUU for other societies - watch this space!
  • (We also have a new podcast coming this year (but shhhh its still a secret for now.))
