Not everyone will see their new face but you will see it everywhere now

they said it was a danger in the dark
so why do you feel the loss of safety:
on a stroll through campus
at the halloween party
or in your friend's warm embrace.
they said it was a danger in the dark
not a sweet moment turned sour;
the twisting knife of betrayal, so quick,
you didn't notice it splitting your skin.
they didn't tell you a friendly face could turn to foe.
and not everyone will see their new face
but you will see it everywhere now.
